Poulsen is actually a very good player.

EDIT: Hart wants first team football, and is worried he won't get it at City.

Hart will get first team football. I'm very sure of that. But if he makes a costly mistake then he'll find himself loaned out pretty quickly or benched. Mancini will be looking for flawless goalkeeping — Given's goalkeeping — and if Hart doesn't provide anything to that level pretty quickly then it's going to be clear who will start.
I could perhaps see Given starting the first two games, just to be safe. But it's clear that Hart is capable, and would be more than good enough to stop Spurs and Liverpool. (NB: I'm not saying Hart is better than Given(not yet, anyway) but he isn't far from those standards. And with the goalkeeper's 'peak' believed to be around 30, the next 7 years of Hart's career could see him turn into the greatest keeper England has seen in a long time. Or it might not. It depends.)

**** hell.

Regardless of what I think of the player, that's awful and I hope he recovers quickly. Seems like a pretty stupid thing to do though, 3 people in a 2 seater car (probably drink driving). Nevertheless, I'm glad he's OK.

It's a shame though. Unless it was down to drink driving, which case he's a **** idiot and it's a shame natural selection didn't get the better of him.

Click

So if The Times are to be believed (and there is reason to believe them because Tony Barrett is a scouser, Liverpool fan and was the Liverpool Echo's LFC reporter for a few years, thus giving him genuine contacts inside the club) one of China's richest men thinks he can take over our club before the transfer window closes. Really hope it goes through, firstly because according to the report our debts would be wiped as part of the deal and secondly, it would convince Fernando Torres to stay.

Fingers crossed.

According to Sky, the Chinese want the deal done this week so the manager will have funds to spend on players. Hope it happens.

shiiiiiiiit, that almost seems too good to be true, given our luck recently. Hope it does happen, could really mark a new chapter in our history, as it were. And if it happens this week, even better, means we would actually have decent funds for rest of the transfer window. Also they want to get "Stanley Park" built as soon as possible, which is great news (I mean I adore Anfield but we just have to move on, all the big clubs have world class stadiums now).

Exciting stuff. Really hope they go through with it.

I'm happy that the Americans would leave, apprehensive about the new guy. But if he clears majority of our debt and starts the building of our stadium, that would be great

I'm so shocked you think that.

He's going nowhere, yes he will be a backup this season but we need two very good keepers to get us through this season so he will have to stay. Last season Given got injured and we were left with one academy keeper before our emergency loan. We can't send him out on loan again and leave Given to deal with four competitions. He will get games this season, not as many as he would like but he will play.

Project, do you think we should experiment and possibly rotate our keeper?

How about we give Hart all of our FA, Carling and Europa League games. That's around 30 games(if he plays all of them, and up until the final). Or we could try rotation of Hart takes 18 in the league, Given takes 18 etc.

I think that Given>Hart. But Hart had the potential to he so much better, and we should definitely let him play a few games, as well as make sure he gets enough opportunities to impress Capello.

I understand that Mancini will be looking to win all three of those competitions. But playing Hart is hardly a 'risk'. I definitely want to see him getting more than 20 games in the season.

Went to the Red Bulls Tottenham game:

Great stadium and atmosphere. They had 'cheerleaders' standing in front of the hardcore RB fans coordinating the chanting. Tottenham played pretty ****, with Bale and your keeper being the best players. Henry was good to see even if he was getting bummed a little too much. Something that amused me was the difference in chants. When the opposition keeper is about to kick the ball, you know the whole 'OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH' then when he kicks it's he gets abuse, they used 'you suck ****' which made me lol.

Hart will probably stay because he's homegrown come to think of it. Mancini will probably have to promise him 50% of the games and hopes he gets lucky with injuries

As terrible as injuries are, if you're lucky they can free managers and keep players happy.

For example, Given out for two weeks, and right when he comes back Hart gets injured, and so on.

It wouldn't leave first team players frustrated on the bench. Particularly goalkeepers, because generally few teams purposefully rotate keepers in the league.

Nice snaps. I'm genuinely disappointed I haven't heard the 'you suck ****' chant before, it sounds like it was a real wow moment.

TMK, why do you think we would want either of our goalkeepers injured? When we have two goalkeepers, one great and one very good, why would we shy away from rotation? It's thefairest system, and we definitely don't want either of their careers hampered by injuries.

To JD's last post in this thread that was deleted.

Actually, we have exactly the quota. Players like Insua and Plessis are considered 'homegrown' as they were at our club for three years before the age of 21.

We have 17 non-homegrown (including Masch) and 8 homegrown. I can post the names too.

If Masch goes I expect a back-up striker in replacement. And now Balotelli's gone from Inter..
