It's just where everybody placed in the last tournament. What exactly is the problem with that?

There's 7 players from the forum on our available players list so far. Players from the first tourney that haven't gauged interest in this thread yet:

Sonic, MP, Emperix, Dalagonash, SL128, nintydom, Miek, Phoenix Allstar, Yoshi and PD

That's another 10 potential players on top of the 8 on the list already. Wouldn't mind hearing what some of them have to say, might just PM them harrassing them about this.

1. Locking characters. Sounds like I've taken this over, but it should be locked, SBO style. Plus, you really want to know who everybody's strongest with so you don't go playing with somebody who mains the same character as you.
2. Not right now, but give it some thought.
3. That's not really ranked in any way other than rough sets. Just from glancing quickly at the brackets and stuff.

NB - I am asking whether you want to be locked to the same character throughout the tournament. During matches switching should not be allowed because what's to stop one player picking a character in the first set then their partner picking the same one in a different set? Switching between sets circumvents the separate characters rule to an extent so that should be vigorously enforced.

Just can't use the same character as your partner ever?

Now it gets into the stages of being complicated, because what if your partner decides to switch too and now you've got two characters down off the list and then it spirals down from there into being needlessly complicated. Another thing, which I didn't want to say implicitly and colour people's opinions is that it just opens up the whole thing to counterpicking; you should be bringing your strongest character to the table, so you shouldn't need to be switching and kopping out.

The way I would have it, character locked throughout the whole tournament, makes it simple and uncomplicated and gives everybody necessary amount of time to prepare without having to worry about things changing.

Still looking for somebody that could record these matches in some fashion. Out of everybody here I think only Emperix has ever recorded matches, so maybe he could do it? Maybe somebody else on the forum's got the game, got recording equipment but isn't taking part that can do it? Push comes to shove I might see where I can borrow a camera from and just do it myself, so could players in every match please save replays of the matches?

Don't need them, but I think it would be a nice addition to the whole deal. Certainly wouldn't miss them if we couldn't get them, but it would give the whole thing a little touch of polish.
