This might be a stupid idea, but how about make it so that the last post on one page automatically becomes the first post on the next page.

But then the second last post will be missed... that is a solution to an unsolvable problem if you want pagination in threads.

It's not a perfect solution, but there's nothing more annoying than being the last post. Being second to last is slightly better.

I recommend a Firefox plugin that automagically loads the next page as you scroll down. It is called FastestFox and you can get it here.

I feel the "+" and "-" points on portal reviews are unnecessary, apart from that the portal is gravy.

They are there to summarise the review, but to some extent I agree with you, since the writer usually summarises in the last paragraph anyway. We'll discuss it in the mod room.

Also, I'm thinking about making a mobile friendly version of the portal. Worth doing?
